Retrofit & PAS2035

James is a qualified and independent PAS2035 Retrofit Co-ordinator and Trustmark accredited

The Retrofit, or in other words the eco-refurbishment of our houses, is not only sensible for cheaper to run and healthier homes, but is imperative if we are going to meet our carbon reduction targets.

J3 Building Futures are retrofit specialists, having been involved with the retrofit of domestic properties for over 20 years. James has also recently become a qualified PAS2035 Retrofit Co-ordinator.

In the words of the Retrofit Academy:

PAS 2035 is a specification for what is called ‘whole-house’ or ‘whole building’ retrofit. This is an approach to the installation of energy efficiency measures (EEMs) that takes into account the requirement of the entire building, both from a technical standpoint and considering factors like occupancy comfort.

PAS 2035 is concerned with assessing domestic dwellings for energy retrofit. This involves identifying areas where improvements can be made and specifying and designing the relevant improvement measures. It is also concerned with the monitoring of domestic retrofit projects to ensure any problems are spotted early.

Having your project  logged through PAS2035 is likely to be a requirement in time in order to qualify for any government-funded schemes - but it will add cost.

Rest assured, we apply all the basic PAS2035 methods and principles to all retrofit projects, regardless if they are PAS2035 projects or not..
